Why We Exist
We started The LIT Quest because we believe that reading changes everything. A single book can ignite imagination, build empathy, and unlock a child’s future. But today, far too many children grow up without meaningful access to books, the confidence to read them, or the guidance to make sense of what they read.
The Problem We’re Solving
According to the 2023 ASER Report, more
than 70% of children in Grade 5 cannot read
a Grade 2 level text.
A study by Scholastic India revealed
that over 50% of children aged 6–17
read less than one book a month
outside school textbooks.
The average daily screen time for
children in urban India has doubled
since 2020, leaving less time for
reading, critical thinking, and offline
engagement.
While digital content is abundant, curated,
level-appropriate reading material remains
scarce — especially for first-generation
learners or multilingual students.
This is not just a literacy gap. It’s a confidence gap. A comprehension gap.
A creativity gap. And it's growing every year.
